Most services from Vista Health are available without a referral from a medical professional - you can simply self-refer. However, we understand that sometimes you might want or need a GP referral before committing to a diagnostic test or investigation. If you don’t have a referral from your own GP or another medical professional, our highly qualified private GP team can promptly issue a referral letter where it’s required. You can speak with a private doctor through telephone or video call using your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Why would I need a private GP referral?
- While most scans and screening services from Vista Health can be booked by self-referral, there are times when referral by a medical professional is preferable or necessary
- If you’re worried about a health condition or you want reassurance that a diagnostic procedure is the right choice for you, you might want to speak to a GP before you arrange your scan or screening
- You might face a long wait before you can get a referral from your own GP, and for this or another reason you could choose a private GP consultation and referral from our own team

Will seeing a private GP affect my relationship with my NHS GP?
