Getting your results

Your results, and getting help to understand them

Each scan or screening procedure from Vista Health provides results, usually in the form of images and a written report available within three days of your appointment. These results can be shared with your GP or another medical professional. If you’d like to discuss them with one of our own team of private GPs, we can arrange a follow-up consultation for you.

How can we help?

Your questions answered

If you’re about to begin a healthcare journey you’re likely to have a few questions. We’ve tried to answer the most common queries here - but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can always ask one of our friendly advisors.

Here are some of the questions patients ask us most often about test results, together with some useful answers.

What happens after my private scan or screening?

Most scans and screenings produce images immediately. We collate these, along with a report, soon after your appointment. We’ll then make the results available to you, normally within three working days.

How will I receive my results?

Your report and scan images (where applicable) will be sent to you electronically. We aim to deliver all results within three working days of your appointment. If you’ve been referred by your GP or another medical professional, the digital report will be returned back to them.

If you self-referred, you’ll typically receive the written report from a Consultant Radiologist, and your scan images electronically (where applicable). Your report will also be sent to your NHS GP, with whom you can discuss the results. You can also choose a virtual consultation with one of our expert GPs to review the findings and discuss any further steps.

If you had a referral letter, the results will be sent back to your referring clinician, who will discuss them with you and recommend any necessary next steps. You will also be sent a copy of the results.

We aim to deliver all results within 3 working days.

Is there a charge for my results, scan images and report?

The prices we quote for scans and screenings include access to your written report and scan images electronically (where applicable).

The price you see is the price you pay. With us, there are no hidden costs for things such as reporting.

Where can I see images from my scan or screening?

For certain diagnostic services, your scan images are available to view electronically.

With our Patient Image Portal, you can:

- View, share and download your images on your laptop, tablet or mobile.

- Instantly share your images with a medical professional.

- Have full access to your images for one year.

- Eliminate the need for CDs.

Will I have a consultation following my results?

Your diagnostic report will be completed by a specialist consultant radiologist and returned to your referrer or GP within 3 working days of your scan time.

If you would like to talk through the results of your scan and discuss recommendations, we can arrange a consultation with one of our highly qualified private GPs. There’s an additional fee for this, but if you book at the same time as your scan or screening, you’ll get a 20% discount on the consultation fee.

Can you help me understand my results?

Yes. If you’d like a follow-up consultation with one of our private GPs to help understand your test results and their implications, and to help plan the next steps, we can arrange this for you.

If you book a private GP consultation along with your scan, you’ll benefit from a 20% discount on the consultation fee.
