Designed by our Chief Medical Officer and cardiology specialists, this screening service helps you understand the current state of your heart health and whether you need to make lifestyle changes to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease.
A Heart Health Assessment is a detailed screening check of your heart to help you stay healthy. It’s especially useful if you:
Want to screen for hypertension, atrial fibrillation (AF), heart failure, or stroke risk
Have a family history of heart problems, high cholesterol, or diabetes
Experience breathlessness, heart palpitations, or chest discomfort
Using advanced CT scans, simple blood tests, and expert GP advice, we carefully examine your heart and blood vessels. Finding issues early means you can take action to protect your heart and improve your health. With clear results and practical guidance, you can feel confident about your future.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Your Vista Heart Health Assessment includes a range of scans and tests to get a clear picture of your heart health. Plus, with the expertise of one of our GPs, you will receive actionable insights to improve your heart health. All of this is provided from only £625.
Your Heart Health Assessment will include:
An initial GP consultation
You can discuss any symptoms you have and your medical history during your virtual consultation with one of our experienced GPs. This 20-minute consultation allows your GP to assess your cardiovascular risk, that is, your risk of developing problems with your heart and the blood vessels that supply it (coronary arteries). Depending on their findings, they may recommend a CT coronary angiogram.
CT coronary angiogram
If appropriate, your Vista Health GP may recommend a CT coronary angiogram. This non-invasive test uses X-rays and computer processing to create detailed images of the structures of your heart and coronary arteries. This helps assess your risk of heart disease and heart attacks.
Calcium scanning
A CT calcium scan uses X-rays and computer processing to measure the build-up of calcium in your coronary arteries. Calcium build-up indicates hard plaques in your coronary arteries, which reduces blood flow to your heart. A CT calcium scan, therefore, provides an accurate picture of your risk of having a heart attack before you develop any symptoms.
At-home blood tests
With our simple at-home blood tests, you can easily provide samples for expert analysis at one of our accredited labs. Each test is designed to check important aspects of your heart health that affect your risk of heart disease. We assess your lipid profile, including total cholesterol, LDL (‘bad’ cholesterol), HDL (‘good’ cholesterol), and triglycerides. We also measure your high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP) levels, an important marker of inflammation. In addition, we check your Lipoprotein(a) levels, which can indicate an increased risk of heart disease even if your overall cholesterol is normal, and your Apolipoprotein B levels, a key protein linked to cholesterol particles in the blood.
A follow-up GP consultation
You will receive your results and a report of the key findings within 5 working days of completing your tests. Your Vista Health GP will discuss your results and what they mean for you via a 20-minute virtual consultation. If needed, they can recommend treatments and lifestyle changes to help protect and/or improve your heart health.

If you are experiencing symptoms of a potential heart condition, such as palpitations or chest pain, it is important to see a GP. The earlier heart problems are caught, the sooner you can receive treatment. This leads to better health outcomes.
When you book a Heart Health Assessment at Vista Health, your assessment will start with a consultation with one of our experienced GPs.
A Heart Health Assessment can also give you peace of mind if you have a family history or health conditions that put you at greater risk of heart conditions or stroke. This includes high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
With a Health Health Assessment, you can get answers you need so you can spend less time worrying about your heart health and more time taking steps to get it back on track.
If you’re about to begin a healthcare journey, you’re likely to have a few questions. We’ve tried to answer the most common queries here - but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can always ask one of our friendly Patient Care Advisors.
Your Heart Health Assessment will assess your risk of developing conditions that affect your heart and coronary arteries. This includes aortic aneurysms (widening of the main artery that supplies your body with oxygen-rich blood), coronary artery disease (narrowing or blocking of the coronary arteries), heart valve disease (problems with the valves that control blood flow within your heart), heart failure (when it can no longer pump blood effectively) and cardiomyopathy (thickening of the heart’s walls).
We aim to deliver your results and a report with key findings within 5 working days of completing your tests. Your report can also be sent to your NHS GP. You will have a 230-minute virtual follow-up consultation with your Vista Health GP. They will explain your results clearly and what they mean for you, as well as providing personalised insights to help you improve your heart health. This may include treatment recommendations and lifestyle changes.
Our comprehensive Heart Health Assessments are available at London (Fitzrovia), Milton Keynes and Salford (Manchester).
