Sharon's Story

"The Sonographer was polite and efficient with a friendly manner."

Sharon, 68

What was the reason for booking an MRI scan with Vista Health?

I was in so much pain, particularly at night, and had been for about 7 months (it was now November) and it was difficult to get dressed or even shower and wash my hair as I was unable to move my left arm freely. My GP referred me for an ultrasound scan as he thought the rotator cuff in my shoulder was damaged, possibly even torn. I did some research online and liked what I read about Vista Health and the reviews on Trustpilot were impressive too.

What was your opinion of Vista Health’s service?

When I approached the building, the door was locked to ensure that entry was only one person at a time as per the rules due to the virus. The QR barcode was prominently displayed in the window which was handy as I could scan before entering the building (often they are not, one must wait to get inside, and then it can be a bit of a scrabble). The Receptionist was polite and efficient and gave me a form to complete and supplied a pen and directed me to where I should sit, adhering to the social distancing rules. My appointment was on time and the Sonographer was polite and efficient with a friendly manner. I found her reassuring. My opinion of Vista Health's service was therefore very positive one.

Why did you choose to go private?

My GP said that because of the virus he did not know how long I would have to wait for the ultrasound scan I needed as the local hospitals were concentrating on Covid-19 patients. According to my online research, the waiting list on the NHS for an ultrasound scan in north Essex was unfortunately around 12 months. I could not carry on in my state and condition for another year or more, so I opted to go private, and following my own online research, I chose Vista Health. I was surprised at the cost too, which was less than the new vacuum cleaner I had planned to buy in the New Year, proving to be an affordable and accessible service.

What treatment did you receive after the scan and how this has improved your life?

Following the scan, I have recently had a steroid injection and am hopeful for the success of this treatment.
