Deirdre was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 20 years ago but was very lucky to have a mild form of the disease which has been controlled by medication. In the last few months, Deirdre noticed increased inflammation in one of her wrists and foot. Straight away, Deirdre contacted her consultant who advised she have two Ultrasound scans as soon as possible. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the estimated wait time on the NHS was over 6 months.
