Meet Jemma Halliday, she is the Service Manager based in our Rochdale office. Jemma joined our Vista Health team in 2019.
1. Can you describe your role and what it involves?
My role involves day to day operations of the business. Managing the service, specifically the reporting and the Medico-Legal side of the business. At Vista Health, providing excellent customer service is one of our top goals, therefore I spend a lot of time working with the patient care team to ensure we always uphold this standard. Patients want to interact with a representative who is informed about the services we provide and who can address all their questions and concerns.
2. Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
My mum inspired me to pursue the career I have today. Late in life, after experiencing a family tragedy, she decided to pursue a career in radiography while raising three small children by herself. This instilled a great work ethic in me and my siblings. This isn't the kind of career I had in mind, to be honest! When I was a child, I wanted to be a medical nurse in the army because I wanted to have an active job and travel the world. Due to injury, this wasn’t a dream I could fulfil. When I joined InHealth in 2019, I was able to use my passion for patient care and leadership, which presented me with new challenges that I thoroughly enjoyed.
3. Has working here changed you in any way? If so, how?
Since working at Vista Health, I have been able to develop my leadership skills and hold conversations with key stakeholders to improve the business and deliver the best patient care. Customer service is the foundation of all we do, and the patient experience depends on the team members' ability to provide excellent customer service.
4. Describe your team in three words
Hard-working, dedicated and caring.
5. What are your top favourite films or TV series?
Stranger Things, Stephen King's It and 999 What’s Your Emergency.
6. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Playing and watching cricket. I play cricket for the local ladies team and I enjoy watching it at Old Trafford. It is a true family sport and a wonderful summer activity.
7. Tell us something we might not know about you.
I was a member of the Sea Cadet Corps when I was younger. My confidence and practical skills both grew as a result. I took part in several activities all throughout the country and donated money to charities, specifically the Royal British Legion's poppy campaign.
I was lucky enough to go to the Millennium Dome, which is now the O2 Arena, and even got to meet the Queen!
8. What is your favourite quote?
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” - Maya Angelou
